Imaging star cluster NGC6883

NGC6883 is a star cluster in constellation Cygnus. It was discovered by John Herschel in 1828. For this image a total exposure time of 2h20m was necessary. I like the huge amount of stars in this relatively small area of the sky.

The image is also available in full resolution.

Imaging the Crescent Nebula (NGC6888) without UHC and OIII filter

The Crescent Nebula is an emission nebula in constellation Cygnus. It was discovered by William Herschel in 1792. The apparent magnitude is around 7.4mag.

I imaged the nebula without UHC or OIII filter – that’s why is actually looks quite unspectacular.

The image is also available in full resolution.
